Kriegel Fellowship, Class of 2023: In Photos

This spring, 22 chiefs of staff, deputy chiefs of staff, and other legislative office leaders within city and state legislative offices graduated from CUNY ISLG’s Kriegel Fellowship class of 2023.
This cohort of promising public servants will now continue to go on to be the next generation of policy professionals and legislative leaders, now reinforced by CUNY ISLG’s network of experts in leadership, management, strategic communications, negotiation, and community engagement.
Designed specifically for chiefs of staff to NYC and NYS legislators, the fellowship provides custom-tailored professional development and peer-to-peer learning opportunities to rising government leaders. Fellows engaged in coaching sessions, small group activities, and informal peer mentorship to grow confidently in their positions.
Through a series of informative, open-dialogue sessions with policy experts, this year’s fellows gained deeper insight into the pressures that influence policy decision-making, enhanced their policy knowledge and leadership capacities, and collaborated with peers to more positively impact the future of New York City and State.

This year’s fellowship class was the first to participate in the Pathway Forward Project, ISLG’s robust micro-credentialing program. Launched in 2022, the program awards digital badges to Kriegel Fellows who demonstrate excellence and achievement in their roles.
Since the fellowship’s launch in 2020, 55 Chiefs of Staff have participated in our Kriegel Fellowship.
